Summit Lacrosse Tournament

August 7-10, 2003

This is secretly my most looked forward to tournament all summer long, heading to Lake Placid for 4 days of Lax and reLAXation! Can’t ask for anything more – or can you? …

This being our 4th year at the Summit, we all knew that this was the ultimate test for our Alumni and Select Varsity players. This is NOT a high school tournament; this is for Club teams consisting of the Best college and post collegiate players in the country!

Our 1st match up, whom we had to win to get to the winners bracket, was against the Adirondacks, formerly BC Lax, and they gave us the first real test! Ultimately we were kicked into gear and we came out strong and confident. We won, by a goal, so off we went to the Winners bracket – next match up Team Toyota…

Seeing the Team Toyota won the tournament 4 years in a row and also had rostered Jen Adams, UMD All American and everything else – did we have a chance? Most certainly! I knew with the team play we had, the skills, speed, unselfishness, and desire to compete; we had a pretty damn good chance!

Guess what people, we WON!!

And off to the Semi finals Mass Elite went, and SO proud after that win!

Our next match up "In the Crease" consisting of Syracuse and NY players… Without going play by play let’s say they took advantage of our young talent and pulled out the big guns against us, finishing with a tie we now had to battle for just one sudden death goal – not today, they laid one in first and got the win…

Next - Off for the 3rd place title we went vs the Skirmishers, and won it by one goal! Our ladies were forced to play their hearts out and use all the best they had to challenge this team. We had it and we gave it, we not only proved that we are a great team but we challenged and beat the best of the best!

A TREMENDOUS AND EXCITING ACCOMPLISHMENT!

This is, and will continue to be, the test for our players as a team and individually. I so look forward to next year, and know that with players having the college game experience and the competitive High School experience - this will only make us tougher and continue to be the best of the best!
